It is officially November and time to start thinking about the perfect gift ideas for friends and family. What if this year picking a gift was easy? Finding a special gift for the kids that is fun and special but also has a true meaning as well? Well let me tell you about Operation ResCUTE and then you decide!
Operation ResCUTE is an adorable boxed set that includes a book, stuffed animal and sticker. The book is the true life story about Jingles a shelter dog and the stuffed animal is Jingles himself. When you buy this set at just $29.99 you have helped to rescue a dog living in an animal shelter. 100% of the profits from the book go towards helping shelter dogs get adopted.
Operation ResCUTE was started when NYC marketing powerhouse Laurie Brown-Nagin spotted an Animal Control Officer carrying a puppy to a pro-bono veterinarian. The animal lover and mom fell in love with Jingles, the shelter pooch that desperately needed a warm, loving home. As a marketing researcher, Brown-Nagin discovered only 30 percent of pets in homes come from shelters and rescue organizations. Worse, an estimated 2.7 million healthy pets remain in shelters each year! She started a non-profit, www.OperationRescute.com, and used her years of marketing prowess to package this inspiring boxed set for the next generation to read and feel empowered to make a difference.
My boys couldn’t wait to open and snuggle Jingles right out of the box. Jingles can often be found curled up in one of the boys beds at any given time. We are all big animal lovers and the boys loved the story as Jingles found his happily ever after! It was also a great conversation starter as to why we take care of our pets the way we do and that there are many friendly faces at animal shelters that need a happy loving home like ours.
We have two big pups and our newest edition Kyzer is a ResCUTE dog. Bounced from home to home to shelter before we adopted him, we have yet to figure out why nobody wanted this cute little rascal face. He has been the best addition to our family and we can’t imagine a day without him now.
I urge you to check your local animal shelters and adopt if you are looking to add a new furry friend to your family. And if it is a gift you are needing this holiday season give this pawsitive present and see the smiles and joy as little Jingles once again finds his happily ever after. And just think a shelter dog may also be getting hugs and snuggles this holiday because of your gift.
